FPFU is dedicated to bringing awareness to this draconian and unnecessary law. Approximately 14,000 individuals have been sentenced under the PRR since its inception of May 30, 1997. There are currently approximately 8,000 PRR individuals incarcerated in Florida State prisons, approximately 2,000 of which are serving life sentences with a majority, approximately 800, for robbery, with many instances involving absolutely no physical harm.
